Acoustic Product
Mass Loaded Vinyl (MLV)

A high-density, limp-mass material used to block sound transmission through walls, floors, and ceilings. Engineered for maximum decibel reduction in minimal thickness.

HRM’s Mass Loaded Vinyl is a premium acoustic barrier designed to add significant mass to structures without the bulk of traditional building materials. By effectively decoupling sound energy, it prevents vibrations from traveling through partitions, making it the industry standard for soundproofing residential, commercial, and industrial environments.

Sound Blocking

Superior STC Ratings

Significantly improves the Sound Transmission Class (STC) of any wall assembly by adding non-resonant mass.

Vibration Control

Vibration Decoupling

The limp-mass nature of the material ensures it does not vibrate, effectively "killing" sound energy on contact.

Eco Friendly

Non-Toxic & Durable

Lead-free and odorless composition ensures safety for indoor environments like bedrooms and offices.

Technical Specifications

Designed for professional-grade performance across various frequencies, our MLV meets rigorous fire safety and density standards.

Density Options

Available in 1 lb/sq.ft (4.8kg/m²) and 2 lb/sq.ft (9.6kg/m²) to suit different decibel blocking needs.

Temperature Resistance

Stable performance from -40°C to 90°C, making it suitable for industrial engine rooms and HVAC ducts.

Fire Safety Compliance

Meets international FMVSS 302 and equivalent fire retardant standards for building safety.

Installation & Benefits

Where should MLV be installed?

MLV is best installed directly to studs or floor joists before the final layer of drywall or flooring is applied. It can also be wrapped around noisy pipes and HVAC ducts to eliminate airborne noise.

Can I use MLV for automotive soundproofing?

Yes, our specialized MLV sheets are ideal for car damping. They block road noise, exhaust drone, and vibration when applied to the floor pans, door panels, and trunks.

What are the primary benefits of HRM MLV?

The primary benefit is maximum sound blocking with minimum space loss. Unlike building a double wall, a thin layer of MLV provides equivalent sound reduction, saving valuable floor space.
